Risk Management & Emergency Plan

This document describes the risk management framework and emergency procedures for the 'Atlas Uncharted' rally. The objective is to identify risks early, protect participants, and establish clear procedures for potential emergency situations.

1. Purpose of the Risk Management Plan

The plan ensures that risks are identified in advance, preventive measures are implemented, and clear operational procedures exist in case of emergencies.

2. Typical Risks During the Rally

  • Vehicle accidents

  • Technical failures or vehicle breakdowns

  • Medical emergencies (e.g., injuries, dehydration, heat exhaustion)

  • Navigation issues or lost vehicles

  • Extreme weather conditions

3. Preventive Measures

  • Mandatory safety equipment for vehicles and participants

  • GPS tracking for position monitoring

  • Rally medic for medical support

  • Navigation data and roadbook

  • Participant briefing before the rally start

4. Emergency Communication

  • Mobile phone as the primary communication device

  • Optional satellite communication

  • GPS tracking for location transmission

  • Starlink internet in the camp (if available)

5. Emergency Procedure

  • Secure the situation

  • Provide first aid to injured persons

  • Inform the organization team

  • Transmit GPS position

  • Decision regarding evacuation or further actions

Emergency coordination provided by the organization does not replace personal

insurance coverage or medical evacuation insurance.

6. Responsibilities

Participants:

  • Drive safely and responsibly

  • Maintain the technical condition of their vehicle

  • Comply with rally rules and safety requirements

Organization:

  • Route planning and safety concept

  • Emergency coordination

  • Provision of medical support

7. Evacuation Strategy

  • Local medical treatment

  • Transport to the nearest hospital

  • International medical evacuation if required

8. Core Principles

  • Prevention – avoiding risks wherever possible

  • Preparation – proper equipment and planning

  • Response – clear procedures in emergency situations
